Gryphons 98G Welcomes Marta to the Bay Area!
If you haven’t already heard (I’m so excited!), on February 4, the Women’s Professional Soccer League (WPS) had a special draft. The best female player in the WORLD (Marta from Brazil, and yes my last name…lol) was picked by our very own FC Gold Pride!
If you haven’t already done so, go get your tickets or season tickets!! Marta’s a really a fun player to watch. If you can’t tell I’m excited, you should have seen me when I first heard the news. For ticket information, please go to the FC Gold Pride site.

CONGRATULATIONS 98G WHITE!
2009 NorCal State Cup (Gold) Champions
| The 98G White team secured an exciting State Cup win against Delta Youth Soccer League Dynamite on December 20, 2009. The girls played an intense game and this was a hard-fought victory for them. The coaching staff and parents are very proud of the girls for their efforts and hard work throughout the 2009 season. |
The Gryphons went up 3-0 within 15 minutes in the 1st half. The game then took an interesting turn, with Dynamite scoring two goals, making the score 3-2 at half-time. Our girls continued to put pressure throughout the second half, with several shots on goal. With less than a minute left in the game, Dynamite scored again to tie 3-3, sending the game into extra time. After a couple of attempts at Dynamite’s goal, the Gryphons finally scored the winning goal with a nice cross from left midfielder Danielle to right midfielder Jessika, who struck the ball on one touch.

Thank you! Gryphons 98G players and families donated food for Thanksgiving food baskets for families at the Shelter Network. The players and families then distributed the baskets to families at the Redwood Family House in Redwood City. The Redwood Family House provides safe transitional housing and support services for homeless families.
